Argentina’s new road corridors being developed

Six new road corridor projects are being given the go-ahead in Argentina. These will be carried out under the PPP model, with the work expected to cost some US$12.5 billion during the first four years. One of the first road building projects to commence under the programme will be for the highway connecting Rosario with Rufino, National Route 33. The six road corridor projects are for the A, B, C, E, F and Sur routes.

Rivers to be crossed between Parana and Sante Fe include the Parana River, the Colastine River and the Sante Fe River, although it is not yet clear which route will be used. These projects will be handled under the PPP model, with international investment being encouraged by the Argentinian Government. A series of tenders will open during October 2017 while construction work on the projects is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2018. The nine projects going to tender will be worth a total of US$5.61 billion, although additional works may be announced in due course.
