265 Leica Geosystems is expanding its range with the launch of its Leica DX10 Field Controller. This robust site PDA is designed specifically for use in the tough construction environment, is compact, versatile and powerful. The Leica DX10 delivers high performance and reliability and can cope with vibration, shock and temperature extremes. It features an ergonomically shaped case and weighs just 482grammes. Features include Bluetooth capabilities, a high contrast colour display, a 520MHz Intel Xscale processor, 128MB low-power RAM and a solid-state 256MB Flash disk. The rechargeable, lightweight Li-Ion battery pack provides operation for more than 20 hours on a single charge. The unit also has a CF and SD card slot, 9-pin RS232 and 2x USB ports, as well as optional wireless communications such as Wi-Fi or wire-less cellular modems. The unit comes in two color variants: Y (yellow) for construction applications, and R (red) for mid-high end survey capabilities, GIS and machine control duties.
