PTV Group signs an extension to a tactical and operational modelling software contract for London, UK

The company, which develops software solutions for transport logistics, traffic planning and traffic management, signed an extension to the current contract for another two years.

TfL has a tactical highway assignment model called the Operational Network Evaluation (ONE) Model in the PTV Visum software platform which covers the road network within London’s M25 Orbital Motorway.

PTV Group has also been added for year 2019/2020 to TfL’s Strategic Modelling Accreditation Scheme which means that it can be used for scheme assessments and other work by accredited organisations.

TfL has 23 microsimulation corridor models in the PTV Vissim software for the strategic road corridors within the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN). The models are used for the assessment of the operational capacity and performance of the road network and the impact of proposed developments.

According to PTV, more than 2,500 cities deploy PTV products. The European transport model, which encompasses all passenger transport and freight movements in Europe, is developed using PTV software. PTV’s headquarters in Karlsruhe, Germany, houses the company’s research and development centre.
