Complete control from a distance with Bobcat

Bobcat is now offering a novel remote control system for use with its compact machines. The new remote control system is a plug and play package comprising a portable industrial radio remote control solution. This can be fitted or removed on machines very quickly.

The system can be used on compact track loaders and skid-steer loaders with a variety of tools including grapples, pallet forks, combination buckets, vibratory rollers, soil conditioners, augers, trenchers, 2D/3D laser graders and dozer blade attachments.

The firm says that the package helps to increase safety, comfort and productivity by distancing the operator from dust, noise, vibrations and other hazards encountered on jobsites that require special precautions. Work can be done faster with high precision and, in some applications, with fewer personnel on the jobsite. For increased safety, the system also features an emergency stop button and drop and tilt detection.

It allows direct sight of the work in progress, further increasing the versatility of the loader. With trenchers and wheelsaws, where the operator specifically needs to drive backwards with the loader, this solution offers perfect visibility of the project. Other applications include demolition environments with poor air quality and distracting noise.

Installed in minutes, the system allows operators to leave their seat in the cab and control their Bobcat loader remotely. It is compatible with Bobcat skid-steer, compact track and all-wheel steer loader models equipped with the company’s Selectable Joystick Controls.

The package is supplied with two exchangeable batteries offering a long 20-hour battery life and the system is housed in a rugged and weatherproof enclosure.
