The Trimble Dimensions 2022 conference opened on 7th November at the Venetian Conference Centre in Las Vegas, NV. Trimble CEO Rob Painter addressed a huge audience, presenting some of the firm’s latest innovations and making key points about the rapid speed of technological advancement and the huge jump in data available.

Painter said, “The pace of change has never been this fast, but it will never be this slow again.”

He added, “Over the last two years alone, 90% of the data in the world was created.”

Painter also discussed some of the challenges facing construction, with the industry accounting for as much as 25% of global CO2 emissions. However, he said that new and coming technology offers the chance to reduce CO2 emissions from the construction sector, meeting global sustainability targets. Working smarter and also adopting new technologies can address climate change issues from construction.

Meanwhile, Trimble is focusing on new 3D and machine control solutions for users that can help increase construction efficiency, while reducing project costs. And by boosting working efficiency, CO2 emissions can also be lowered significantly.

Following Painter’s address, he introduced Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and the two discussed technological innovations and how these are changing the world. Wozniak’s genius and razor sharp sense of humour both amazed and entertained the record 5,000 or so attendees at Trimble Dimensions, so much so that he had a standing ovation from the crowd.
