Bentley Awards, finalists announced

The finalists have been announced for the 2020 Bentley Awards.

The winners are to be selected a at Bentley’s Virtual Year in Infrastructure 2020 Conference, October 20-21. The firm’s annual awards highlight the successes of Bentley software users advancing infrastructure design, construction, and operations throughout the world. In all, 16 independent jury panels selected the 57 finalists from over 400 nominations submitted by more than 330 organisations from more than 60 countries.

Amongst the finalists for Year in Infrastructure 2020 Awards for advancements in infrastructure are in 4D Digital Construction: DPR Construction – 2019 LSM DS Tech Upgrade; Mortenson | McCarthy - a Joint Venture – Allegiant Stadium; Office of the Renovation and Expansion Project of the Beijing-Harbin Expressway Section from Lalin River.

In Bridges the finlaists are: Arup – Cherrywood Grand Parade Bridge; Chongqing Communications Planning, Survey & Design Institute, Guizhou Communications Construction Group, Guizhou Bridge Construction Group for Digital Design and Construction of Taihong Yangtze River Bridge; Sichuan Road & Bridge (Group) for the Chishui River Bridge of Expressway from Jiangjin to Xishui to Gulin.

For Roads and Highways the finalists are: Sichuan Road & Bridge, form BIM Technology Application on Chengdu-Yibin Expressway, Sweco Nederland for the Oosterweelverbinding Antwerpen; SAI-SYSTRA Group for the Mumbai Coastal Road Project (South) Package – II.

The 2020 awards event was intended originally to follow a similar format to previous years. In 2019 the event was held in Singapore and for 2020 it was to be held in Vancouver. However, the pandemic meant that Bentley had to change its plans and the awards will now be run online.

Judging is being carried out by the expert panels using video call technology.
