The recently signed software and service agreement will see Horizons, a Software-as-a-Service platform, support two large-scale Maintenance Alliance Contracts encompassing more than 7,500km of arterial road network for VicRoads, the road and traffic authority in the state of Victoria.

8110 Yotta Australia worked in partnership with 6191 Fulton Hogan, which bid for the 5155 VicRoads tenders, said Glenn Johnston, national manager for infrastructure services at Fulton Hogan. “With support from Yotta Australia, we were able to communicate our proposals clearly and precisely and demonstrate how we would use the software to strategically plan works, making use of all available data to deliver better outcomes for the road network and the greater community.”

VicRoads awarded Fulton Hogan two Maintenance Alliance Contracts covering the Eastern and South Western Region. The company will deliver maintenance for five years, with a possible five-year extension.

Horizons, a visualised asset management platform available in Europe since 2012 was launched in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year. Horizons is a cloud-based solution designed for asset managers to visualise, manage and optimise all their asset management strategies and records.

In the UK, 8100 Highways England, the government-owned company responsible for managing England’s core road network, recently awarded Yotta a two-year contract covering software and professional services. The deal includes licences for Horizons, which is branded by Highways England as PIT, their Programme Investment Tool.

The deal is a follow-on contract from one handed to Yotta, which is based in the UK, in February 2014. The contract was awarded by the UK government procurement initiative G-Cloud, an online service to help public sector organisations, such as Highways England, purchase cloud-based IT services.

“Horizons has been supporting Highways England for the past 18 months helping them identify and inform a five-year programme of works based on range of data, including our own survey data as well as additional traffic and pavement construction information,” said Nick Smee, chief executive of Yotta.
