VIDEO: M6 motorway link taking shape between Knutsford and Bowdon

August 23, 2016
In the UK, work to connect sections of the new €223 million A556 Knutsford to Bowdon dual carriageway, between the M6 and M56 in Cheshire, will get underway in earnest at the weekend with the opening of its first bridge.

The route of the road, forming a link between junction 19 of the M6 motorway at Knutsford and junction 7 of the M56 motorway at Bowdon, has been taking shape for some time.

However, the need to keep open existing roads which cross the route of the new dual carriageway while it is being built means it has yet to be connected from end to end. Work to move these roads onto bridges over the new road is now underway.

The A50 from Mere, Chapel Lane from Bucklow Hill and Millington Lane – all with junctions along the existing A556 – are all currently running across the path of the new A556 with the route of the new road being excavated on either side of them.

Each of the roads will be realigned and moved onto newly-built bridges crossing the new dual carriageway - with the A50 work due for completion by 30 August. By then, all traffic heading between High Legh and Mere crossroads will have started using the new A50 bridge.

Work to run traffic over the new bridges at Chapel Lane and Millington Lane – as well as a new bridge providing farm access at Bentleyhurst Lane – will be done over the next few months.

As shown by this – complete with all the double entendres you could wish for – the owner can drive to the beach, park up and proceed to play pool, which apparently attracts a lot of beach bunnies. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/video/watch/video/vi-AAaCRoj?ocid=OutNUK&from=OutNUK&FORM=BWVOLC A late model Chevrolet Mont

The Scottish roads authority has backpedalled on its recently improved cycle lane along a major route on the south-west coast, close to the city of Ayr.

Amid local authority concerns over traffic congestion and one man’s media-grabbing protest, the cycle lane will now be ripped out – after being installed this summer.

As the video shows, it is a protected wide lane, often painted blue. Cars appear to travel freely beside it.

Switzerland will soon tender for companies to build and supply a mobile system for physically shifting traffic away from road crews – the Astra Bridge concept. The federal highways agency - FEDRO - will be asking general contractors to submit bids starting this summer for the Astra Bridge system, according to the agency. The system, to be used on motorways, includes ramp sections at each end of what amounts to a train of elevated connected road sections. Vehicles run onto the top of the train which is

From project-specific solutions for tunnels, to system applications in bridge construction and heavy-duty towers for the highest loads, VARIOKIT is extremely adaptable. Now it can also be used for the balanced cantilever method with a few additional, newly developed system components. The new components for t
