Manufacturers are continuing to develop new excavators and wheeled loaders offering increased performance - Mike Woof writes. New developments are being seen in both the wheeled loader and excavator markets. Caterpillar, Daewoo, Hitachi, Hyundai, Komatsu, Kobelco and Volvo CE all have new wheeled loader or excavator models now available.

Manitou is making its MT625HA telescopic handler available in the access platform market. The machine can be equipped with a choice of two platforms, offering 200kg or 365kg capacities. Power is provided by a Tier 4 Final Kubota engine, delivering 55kW (74hp) and the machine features flow-sharing hydraulics for smooth operation. An emergency electric pump is supplied to provide platform control in the event of an engine failure.

Hyundai’s new HX235 LCR short tail crawler excavator, a stage IV generation machine, can load trucks up to 5% faster and levels up to 4% faster than the 9A-Series.
