The manufacturer’s Android platform for excavators and dozers automates the boom and bucket, offering a 30% boost to productivity while reducing operator fatigue.
New products from Volvo Construction Equipment are emission-compliant as a matter of course, says the company, which will introduce next generation articulated haulers (ADTs), wheeled loaders, excavators and backhoe loaders. From the six-strong F-Series articulated haulers (starting with the A25F with a load capacity of 24tonnes to the A40F FS with 39tonnes) will be the 28tonne capacity A30F and the A40F.

The latest version of Caterpillar’s successful D8 bulldozer comes with an array of advanced technologies that the firm says are designed to provide faster more accurate results. Power comes from a Cat C15 engine that provides an increase in power to 271kW, boosting performance for a wide range of dozing, ripping and grading tasks. The engine is Stage V/Tier 4 Final compliant and drives through a fully automatic four-speed transmission with Lock-up Clutch (LUC) torque divider.
Gradall Industries largest wheeled excavator model – the XL 5300 III – is on show at Conexpo 2014.
Weighing 23.2tonnes, the XL 5300 III is said by Gradall to be designed for high productivity jobs on every terrain. With its new yellow Gradall colour scheme, the machine has a maximum reach of 10.3m and a dig depth of up to 7.5m. Its rated bucket breakout force is 113kN, and the rated boom force is 111kN.
