Existing tough competition will step up another gear with the launch of further new machines in the asphalt roller market, Mike Woof reports. The asphalt compaction equipment market is intensely competitive, with a number of major firms all fighting to boost market share. And with many major manufacturers having revamped ranges during 2010 and further new models now due, this rivalry is set to become tougher still.
Efficiency goes hand in hand with intelligence in the Dynapac SD2500CS PROTAC Spray Paver. The PROTAC brings two processes together in one machine and in a single operation: paving and spraying. It applies simultaneously a layer of tack coat emulsion and a layer of asphalt. This not only saves time and therefore costs, but also increases the pavement quality.
Dynapac claims that the new SD Series tracked pavers are easier to operate and more productive due to their high visibility. The two SD Series medium class pavers, the SD115C and SD135C, offer production rates of up to 750tonnes/hour, as well as increased fuel efficiency. Paving widths are from 2.5m and 3m respectively. Using hydraulic extensions offers paving widths of 6m and using mechanical extensions, maximum paving widths of 8m and 10m respectively can be achieved.
