Peri has developed a new lightweight version of its Variokit falsework system for emerging markets. The Alphakit system spans up to 25m, compared to 40m for its heavier sister, and can be assembled by hand until the final stages when a crane is required to lift the system into place. The country has long experience of constructing tunnels as a result. Now a series of tunnels underway, or in design, around the oil industry city of Stavanger will stretch its skills more than usual.
