A new tunnel formwork system from Pilosio reduces the time needed for assembly. Made from standard components, this can be used for a wide range of geometries.
Increasingly, and where possible, roads are being built in tunnels often for environmental reasons, writes Patrick Smith As part of the new M7 motorway development in the southwest of Ireland, the four-lane route crosses the River Shannon near Limerick, before it flows into the Atlantic. Centrepiece of the 10km long Limerick Southern Ring Road is the required tunnelling (675m long), which including the north and south entrance and exit ramps, means it will be 915m long. Hamm is now offering new vibration crusher drums for its HC Series compactors. The machines feature new tool holders, can handle crushing and compacting in a single step and meet Stage V/Tier 4 Final emissions requirements, with Tier 3 emissions variants due shortly.
These compactors have been designed specifically to crush and compact rock and stone, allowing processes onsite to be streamlined by reducing the work and expense needed for material preparation and transport. For customers, this means time, cost and CO₂ emissions can be cut by up to 50%.
The new platform system MXK from German-based manufacturer Peri is easily assembled to suit site requirements.
The flexible platform system with lightweight brackets is assembled at ground level, using lightweight components – scaffold support bracket stop-end rails, guardrail posts, the scaffold deck and the side mesh barriers PMB.
Flexibility is the key, said Peri UK managing director Alasdair Stables during an indoor demonstration day held in the docklands area of the UK capital London. The object
