A new tunnel formwork system from Pilosio reduces the time needed for assembly. Made from standard components, this can be used for a wide range of geometries.
For bridge construction, PERI is exhibiting the continuously developed VARIOKIT VIL Incremental Launching Facility. The system is used for the cost-effective production of external, internal and slab formwork for bridges using the incremental launching method.
Work continues on the 2.3km Mersey Gateway signature bridge project close to Liverpool in the UK. David Arminas reports on some of the construction highlights. Under construction is a cable-stayed structure with three towers that will span the Mersey River’s expansive mud flats between the towns of Runcorn and Widnes near Liverpool. Including the approach viaducts on each side, it will be 2.3km long with a river span of 1km. The main bridge deck will be reinforced concrete. The 80m-high central tower will b
A new Liebherr Compactmix 1.0 plant is being used as part of a process in the manufacture of pre-fabricated concrete components. The Compactmix 1.0 compact mixing system was bought by a facility in Türkheim, Germany and its versatility has helped in integrating the unit into the plant's existing production hall. A conveyor belt for the concrete links the mixing system to the prefabricated part production section. The Liebherr ring-pan mixer Type RIM-M is equipped with a mechanical agitator system, and along
