New engine architecture from Perkins will help the firm deliver emissions solutions to meet future regulations. In Europe the Stage V requirements are being finalised but Perkins says that it will be ready with its new technology.
With the introduction of Stage V/Tier 5 emissions regulations set for 2019-2020, depending on engine power output, FPT Industrial says that it will build upon its SCR-only strategy, remaining one of the few manufacturers not adopting Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) to meet the standard. The Italian firm’s Hi-eSCR after-treatment system, already in use on Stage IV/Tier 4 Final engines, maximises in-engine combustion technology without using EGR. This saves weight, cost and space for the equipment manufacture

Thannhauser + Ulbricht Straßen- und Tiefbau (TU) is employing four new Doosan DA30 articulated dump trucks (ADTs) and a new Doosan DX490LC-3 crawler excavator for the earthmoving work during the upgrade of Germany’s B2 federal highway.
The machines being used by TU, based in Fremdingen, southern Germany, belong to the rental fleet of Rühle Maschinenpark from Untermünkheim-Haagen.
