New engine architecture from Perkins will help the firm deliver emissions solutions to meet future regulations. In Europe the Stage V requirements are being finalised but Perkins says that it will be ready with its new technology.
Engine manufacturer Yanmar has stayed ahead in the emission game and reassured customers running its TNV-CR series industrial diesel engines that they are compliant with the European Union Stage V regulations in 2019.
The engines are also compliant with the Swiss OAPC ordinance regulations, says Louis Priem, sales manager in Yanmar’s industrial power train department. In fact, Yanmar, whose head office is in Osaka, Japan, also made sure its engines were compliant with the EPA Tier 4, EU Stage 111B and NTE
Kubota is introducing a new 3.8litre internal combustion (IC) engine that runs on hydrogen. This four-cylinder power unit features a similar design to petrol/gasoline engines and uses spark ignition, delivering 85kW. The power output suits a number of duties such as a 45kVA generator.
Volvo Penta is launching two new diesel engines, the TWD1645GE and TWD1644GE, which it says extends its competitive range. The 16litre TWD1645GE has been designed to produce up to 10% more power compared to previous models, and its switchable rpm settings mean that it can be used anywhere in the world.
Caterpillar has introduced the next generation of articulated trucks, with the new B Series models, which now include the 735B, offering a 32.7tonne payload; the 740B (39.5tonnes), and the 740B EJ with ejector body (38tonnes).
