Peri is introducing an innovative new formwork system that is easier to assemble than before. Highly adaptable, the firm’s formwork solution can be used in a wide range of applications, while also featuring fewer components.
Innovative solutions are being applied to the construction of bridge structures as Patrick Smith reports. RMD Kwikform Iberica has engineered and supplied specialist formwork and falsework for construction of the much-needed Monteporreiro Viaduct in northern Spain. The viaduct will connect Monteporreiro with the Benedictine Monastery of San Bieito Lérez on the other side of the river, and in the process will ease congestion in the nearby town of Pontevedra, diverting some 5,000 vehicles/day.

The Nordhavnsvej – Vej- og Tunnelentreprise (Nordhavnsvej) project is Copenhagen’s largest infrastructure project in the last 50 years. The 1.65km-long route will eventually link the Danish capital’s northern port area with the Helsingør motorway. It runs through a very densely built urban area, in parts at depths of up to 22m. One particular challenge regarding the execution was planning the course of the tunnel because the underground structure also crosses a very busy railway line.
