In glorious spring sunshine, bauma 2016 opened its doors. Thousands of visitors poured into the show grounds at Messe Munchen International to see the latest innovations in construction equipment. Exhibitors from all over the world include Caterpillar, Hyundai, Wirtgen and Komatsu.
Contractor Balfour Beatty has completed the €132.4 million (£105 million) upgrade of the last remaining single carriageway section of the A11. This section of the route runs between Barton Mills in Suffolk and Thetford in Norfolk. The work involved dualling nearly 15km of carriageway on behalf of the Highways Agency.
The 3rd biennial PLANTWORX Construction Machinery exhibition in the UK is on target to exceed the number of exhibitors at the last show in 2015.
With five months to go before opening, 278 exhibitors have signed up, making 86% of exhibition spaces sold, according to the organisers. Of the 278 exhibitors, 74 are new to the event which is hosted the CEA - the UK’s Construction Equipment Association.
The biennial event will take place at its established home at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestersh
The signs are that this year's Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany will be a record-breaking event. Work is well underway on-site for what promises to be the largest Bauma event ever. With over 3000 exhibitors planned to cover a record breaking 550,000m², Bauma is the biggest construction equipment exhibition and for the matter, the biggest exhibition of any kind in the world.
