A new PPP agreement in Ireland will add a further 50km of motorway to the country’s road network. The new motorway construction will be carried out to the south of capital Dublin. The work will be carried out by the Dutch construction company BAM with financing for this PPP deal being provided by the pension fund manager PGGM. The Tanzanian Government is planning to invest in transportation in capital Dar es Salam. Some US$1.92 billion will be invested in building new rods and developing a new public transit system. The aim of this plan is to cut congestion in the city, which has a population of 4 million and suffers extensive traffic delays at peak periods at present. New roads, bridges and flyovers are to be constructed as part of the plan.
