The construction project for the new Polcevera Viaduct is a source of pride for Italy in these difficult times, and the completion of the deck structure has been a cause for celebration.
The Moldovan Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure is investing €150 million to upgrade and refurbish 200km of the country’s major highway links. This funding is coming through a loan being provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Key highway developments are improving connectivity for Ethiopia. The African Development Bank (AfDB) will finance part of the Mojo-Hawassa express highway project. The 209km highway will be constructed in two phases over a five year period, with extra funding coming from South Korea Exim Bank and the government of Ethiopia.

Work has started on a new facility for BOMAG Americas in South Carolina. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in Ridgeway, at the future site of the firm’s new North American headquarters. The new facility will house spare parts warehousing and a machine assembly area along with office space. It is due for completion in October 2014, when BOMAG will begin the move from its current headquarters in Illinois.
