    Rolls-Royce is supplying MTU brand engines to Japanese construction machinery manufacturer Kato for use in its excavator segment. The engine – a six-cylinder inline Series 1000 unit delivering 210kW – will be used to power a 30tonne hydraulic excavator from Kato’s HD range. Equipped with an SCR system, the MTU engine meets the specifications of Heisei 26 - the emissions stage in effect in Japan since last year. The MTU brand is part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems.

    MTU Friedrichshafen and Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Company will set up a 50/50 joint venture to manufacture MTU diesel engines in China. MTU Friedrichshafen, a subsidiary of Rolls-Royce Power Systems, and Guangxi Yuchai Machinery (GYMCL), part of China Yuchai International Limited, will each invest €10.5 million in the joint venture.   • OEMs turn to MTU for Tier 4 Final engine
    January 6, 2017
    Engine manufacturer MTU, has become a major supplier to the construction market, celebrating new installations in Bomag, Hidromek, Manitou and Bell machines at the Intermat 2015 show. The company, now part of the Rolls-Royce Land & Sea division, has its first 10V1600 engine on display in Bomag’s BM2000 cold milling machine. With an output of 567kW, the 10V1600 is Stage IV/Tier 4 Final emissions compliant.
