A new generation plant from Ammann is proving useful for an asphalt supplier in India. The firm is using an Ammann ABA UniBatch asphalt mixing plant, which is utilising recycled asphalt in the mix.
The firm, RKC Infrabuilt, is based in Ahmedabad, India. The machine’s ability to utilise recycled asphalt (RAP) in place of fresh aggregate is the key cost saver. In addition, the ABA UniBatch plant is also able to maintain high mix quality while repurposing the RAP.

With capital expenditure plans being reduced, many quarry operators are using the funds available to improve on productivity with their existing equipment fleets. Claire Symes reports. The economic downturn has had a big impact on the aggregates production sector with many quarry operators looking to reduce costs and rationalise operations. The impact of this can be seen in the reduction of capital expenditure plans but the investments that are being made are focused on efficiency.
Finnish port crane manufacturer Konecranes, which plans to merge with Terex Corporation, said it will make annual cost savings of €25 million by the end of 2017.
The company said that while merger talks with US manufacturer Terex continue, it needs to make efficiency savings. Around half of the savings will happen before the end of this year, according to a written statement.
Plant down-sizing and closures are a possibility, as well as some streamlining of its product portfolio and its supply chain.
