Four Seasons Landscaping is using its fleet of Volvo construction equipment to clear away snow and ice for road using customers across the northeast US coastal state of Connecticut.
Connecticut is susceptible to extreme weather – from hot and humid in the summer to snow storms in the winter and temperatures dipping below -10°C. LiuGong Machinery, a major Chinese maker of heavy construction equipment, said it will invest around US$38 million in manufacturing in Brazil.
The announcement was made during the opening ceremony of its first factory in Brazil, in the city of Mogi Guaçu, around 180km from São Paulo.
LiuGong expects to produce 1,500 wheel loaders and excavators annually at the facility in the first three years of operation.
Komatsu used INTERMAT to take the wraps off two new Dash 7 wheeled loaders, badged WA380-7 and WA500-7. With engine emissions being the main driver, the smaller 18-tonne WA380-7 packs 142kW from its EU Stage IIIb engine to deliver improved efficiency and lower fuel consumption. The machine also gets torque converter lock-up with the function operating in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears, and gives the loader a 40 km/h forward speed.
