  • Adhesiveness control in asphalt mixes – from the project to production
    September 19, 2019
Asphalt plant producer Ciber discusses asphalt mix properties The basic quality criterion of an asphalt mix is its adhesiveness; the adhesion capacity among materials. This adhesive capacity of the asphalt mix can be measured in the laboratory through qualitative or quantitative tests. The result of this analysis should be used as a reference for the improvement of the mix. In the laboratory this can be achieved using additives while at the plant it can be achieved using differing mixer technology an

Manufacturers continue to innovate with sophisticated new soil compaction machines - Mike Woof reports This year has seen the introduction of a series of new soil compaction machines, as manufacturers develop their product ranges. Meeting emission legislation requirements in Europe and North America has helped drive firms to install the latest engine designs. Meanwhile machines have also evolved as companies further refine operating features. The global market for compaction machines has been dominated by
  • Spanish researchers develop new infrared emissions monitoring program that does not disrupt traffic flows
    September 27, 2013
Spanish researchers believe they have found a new way of measuring road-side air quality with an infrared camera system that can remotely measure vehicle emissions by scanning the unique infrared signatures of various pollutants such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, and so on.
