Kristina takes a look at the TamiSoft machine which offers granular measurement of aggregate chunks. The system triangulates Laser beams reflected off the aggregate into a camera, which records up to 1000 measurements per second.

Komatsu is rolling out its new PC190-8 excavator, which replaces the previous PC180-7 model. The new machine weighs in at up to 20tonnes and features an engine power increase of 7% over the previous model, boosting performance and productivity. Digging output is increased due to features such as a 200mm longer monoboom, and a maximum bucket capacity of 1.14m3. Doosan Portable Power was showing no less than four new air compressors on its stand at Conexpo. Two of the four are not powered by diesel; the manufacturer wants to offer its customers more cost effective machines as Tier 4 engines push the price of compressors up. “The price point of the T4 interim and T4 final is getting to the point that contractors are willing to accept alternative power solutions,” said Rus Warner, Doosan’s manager of global air products.
