Oerlikon, Fairfield and Oerlikon Graziano are keen to demonstrate a range of high-tech driveline solutions to OEMs. Oerlikon Fairfield in particular is working on a range of modular hybrid technologies, with motors integrated into the gearbox that could be used to drive compact tracked loaders and other small machinery. Oerlikon Graziano is focussing on shifting solutions, with new hydraulic powershift clutch modules on offer to deliver improved driver comfort and reduced component wear.
Tower Light’s new VT- Hybrid lighting tower, said to utilise modern LED lighting with an advanced battery power/diesel system and auto charging technology, will be unveiled at bauma 2013. The battery on VT-Hybrid is said to have 4,000 hours life, and the generator engine consumes 0.5litres per hour when in use. Tower Lights says fuel usage is so low that the set can run for over 500 hours on one tank of fuel.

Komatsu Europe is seeing more and more potential for its highly sophisticated intelligent machines, as well as its hybrid drive technology. Komatsu is now well established in Europe, having celebrated 50 years in the European market last year.
The firm started development work on hybrid excavators back in 1999, launching its first production model in 2008. And the latest HB215-3 variant, now being launched, is the third generation of this 20tonne class machine, using a further refinement of its well-proven
