Improve efficiency and cut costs with Leica Geosystems

Leica Geosystems has added two new modules to its iCON telematics platform. Using an MCH100 box with wireless connectivity, operators can tap into Leica’s new machine utilisation module to find out whether your earthmoving machines are working or not.  The earthmover module is for any kind of cut and fill operation and monitors productivity and utilisation levels.

    Bergkamp has launched the M1E self-propelled continuous slurry seal and micro surfacing paver. The machine has two main advantages over older versions, said the manufacturer: it is easier to operate and has electronic mix control and diagnostics. “It is much simpler to operate than the old-style machine,” said Bergkamp general manager Bill Cooper. “The operator can pick it up much quicker which means that if you lose an operator you can get a new one up to speed faster.”

    Leica Geosystems has launched v3.0 of its Leica PaveSmart 3D system, which is designed specifically for concrete and asphalt paving and milling applications. This upgraded package is now said to support a wider range of paving equipment and applications than before. PaveSmart 3D v3.0 will be available late March 2012 through Leica Geosystems’ direct sales and approved paving solution distribution channels, including GOMACO.
