Hitachi wants to be the number one European equipment supplier

Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe boss Moriaki Kadoya told INTERMAT 2015 that the manufacturer wants to be number one in Europe as it launched a new hybrid ZW220 wheeled loader and a stage IV compliant Zaxis 300LC excavator. The 500 series drum drive with electric motor offers drum rotation speeds from 15-22rpm and is suited to mixer capacities from 6-14m3. The drivetrain relies on an AC induction motor to turn the drum, which gets its power from an on-board battery pack.
