Guntert & Zimmerman equipment is being used to create a new hard-wearing asphalt surface on a key Interstate highway in the US state of Kansas as Mike Woof reports A busy Interstate highway in the US is now benefiting from a new, long-lasting surface. The road, Interstate 70 in Western Kansas, was in need of resurfacing. The full-depth asphalt roadway, up to 508mm thick in certain sections, had reached the end of its working life.
A new move by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in the US will help improve safety for highway workers and road users alike. The FHWA has issued a guidance memorandum saying how states can recoup the cost of acquiring highway safety equipment as a direct charge on federal aid projects. According to the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), this move will help encourage innovation and competition in public and private sectors by allowing funding for new classes of construction

Hæhre & Isachsen has purchased 20 Doosan DA40 Stage IV/Tier 4 Final compliant articulated dump trucks – the largest Doosan ADT order in Scandinavia.
The previous record was also with Hæhre for 10 Doosan ADTs. With the 20 new DA40 ADTs, 51 of Hæhre’s 59 ADTs will be Doosan. Two of the remaining eight are dump trucks in sizes Doosan does not have in its range.
