The UK's biennial construction equipment exhibition, Plantworx, is moving to a new home for its next show in 2015. Organiser CEA (the Construction Equipment Association) announced today that the event's 11,000 visitors will be making their way to Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome in Leicestershire for three days from June 2 to 4 2015. The new site covers 135,000 square metres and will offer live digging zones as well as a hard standing area that will be used for both exhibition stands and car parking.
Two important routes in Germany, the A9 and A6 autobahn highways, have benefited from the use of the latest Wirtgen slipforming machines. The A9 is a particularly important route in Germany as this 529km link connects capital Berlin with the southern city of Munich, running through Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Thuringia and Bavaria.
The A98 single-lane motorway in Germany is being extended by a second pair of lanes. Work began in 2007 and required building a second bridge at Rheinfelden in the south-west of the country, parallel to the existing bridge, and identical in design and construction.
The American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) has presented awards to five separate industry initiatives. These were highlighted for commitment to promoting safety during the association’s 17th annual Roadway Work Zone Safety Awareness Awards held recently at a luncheon during ARTBA’s National Convention in Philadelphia.
