Doosan has launched two new generation 6 tonne compact excavators, the new DX62R-3 reduced tail swing (RTS) and DX63-3 conventional tail swing models.
Designed as replacements for the existing DX60R and DX55E machines, the new models are said to benefit from a significant improvement in hydraulic performance, through a 33% increase in maximum flow rate to 132l/min. The hydraulic system now also incorporates a load sensing system said to guarantee high hydraulic performance and smooth and efficient combined
Ideal for quarry-based applications, the new Doosan 40-50 tonne DX420LC-5, DX490LC-5 and DX530LC-5 are the company’s largest Stage IV/Tier 4 Final compliant crawler excavators.
The operating weights of the DX420LC-5 and DX490LC-5 have increased by 700kg and 500kg respectively compared to the previous LC-3 models. Lifting capacities have increased by an average of 5% on all three models, except for the DX530LC-5, where the lifting capacity over the side has also increased by 12%.

German contractor Kieswerke Silzen Peissen has purchased three new Doosan machines for the company’s Silzen-based operations for gravel extraction above and below water.
The new machines comprise the Doosan DL420-5 wheeled loader, a custom-made long-reach 60 tonne DX530LC-5 excavator and the state-of-the-art wheeledloader DL420CVT-5, with CVT, denoting a continuously variable transmission.
