The German construction equipment manufacturer's association, the VDMA, has stated that the new EU-exhaust emission directive presents a major challenge for its members.
A series of industrial engines from Deutz is now available that can run on 100% biodiesel. These new engines feature 2000bar injection systems and meets Stage IIIB standards for exhaust emissions. These are claimed to be the first production engines running on biogenic fuels, however the firm adds that it recommends use of Biodiesel Quality Assurance Working Group (AGQM) certified biodiesel. The company says that it is confirming its position in the market by releasing its exhaust emissions standard Stage I
ATLAS claims that its latest wheeled excavator has been redesigned and now benefit from increased power, boosting performance. The 135Wsr has a tail swing radius of only 1,620mm, a swing torque of 40kNm, and a slew speed of 9rpm. The 135Wsr weighs from 13.9-15.2tons and its Deutz diesel meets the Stage V emissions requirements and delivers 95kW at 2000rpm, providing a traction of 82kN, a top speed of 35km/h and good off-road mobility. In addition, it is highly fuel-efficient.
