Following the introduction of Perkins’ MyEngine app, the firm has now released an electronic oil filler cap that can be fitted to any Perkins engine from the 400-series up to the 1200-series. Using low energy Bluetooth, the cap monitors engine hours through vibration frequencies, and feeds operational data directly to the app when the user’s smartphone is within Bluetooth range of the engine.
