Trimble is introducing the Earthworks GO! package, aimed at use with compact machines. This is a significant development as it will allow users of small machines access to machine control systems, improving productivity and work quality.
The firm says that its Earthworks GO! offering allows users to deliver accurate grading with a simple, portable package. This compact machine control solution runs on Android or iOS smartphones. Scott Crozier is general manager of Trimble’s general construction division. H
Caterpillar is unveiling its innovative D8T bulldozer, which can be controlled remotely from the operator station.
The D8T is now available with the latest Cat Command remote control system, which comes with a choice of two operator interfaces. One of these is the portable Operator Console which is designed for line-of-sight use while the other is an ergonomically designed Operator Station that can be located remotely when the dozer is equipped with the Command Vision System. Volvo Construction Equipment’s (CE) dealer in the Netherlands, Kuiken, recently hosted a live, five-day demonstration program using a Volvo P7820C ABG paver machine. On a road trip across the country, the Kuiken team visited six different customers, travelling more than 1,700km in total, and clocking up more than 60 hours of paving. “We wanted to test how the market and existing customers, as well as potential ones, would react to the Volvo P7820C ABG machine,” says Arjen Mostert, sales & support manager of
Leica Geosystems has established new agreements with key OEMs including LiuGong Dressta Machinery and Caterpillar. The agreement with LiuGong Dressta is for a new Leica Ready kit for factory fitting on the TD-15M and TD-16N dozers. According to Leica Geosystems, this will offer contractors the benefit of sophisticated tools for digitalisation. Using machine control technology helps to optimise costs and enables more efficient and sustainable operations, reducing the need for manual stakeouts, optimising fuel usage and minimising the amount of materials and transportation required.
