Caterpillar Paving is now rolling out its F Series paver range. These models offer increased performance and capabilities, delivering higher paving quality.
The advanced PAVE-IR system from MOBA is said to help improve mat quality control during asphalt paving operations. This system is mounted on the paver and scans back and forth across the paving mat immediately behind the machine’s screed. Data on the thermal image of the mat is then displayed on a screen for the operator to see, as well as being recorded for documentation purposes and later analysis if required.
In Tucson, Arizona, contractor McNeil brothers is using a two-track GOMACO concrete slipformer on a 3.2km stretch of highway. This project is for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and involves widening Interstate 10 to four lanes of traffic in each direction between Ruthrauff Road and Prince Road in Tucson. This new stretch was needed to better handle increasing traffic demands in the city and includes rebuilt entrance and exit ramps to improve access to the city.
Atlas Copco has completed the introduction of its fifth generation soil compactor range with the roll-out of the compact CA models. The new Dynapac CA1300 and CA1500 machines share features with the larger machines launched earlier this year, with a focus on reduced operating costs, low operating noise and fuel consumption and ease of servicing.
