The bauma 2016 exhibition marks a major change for the Wirtgen Group with the firm having its biggest ever stand at the show and the second largest at the event itself. A key factor in this is the addition of the Benninghoven asphalt plant business, although the firm has a huge array of equipment in all with no less than 30 new models being launched. Benninghoven dominates the booth - its large asphalt plant is the highest structure ever seen at the show.

New technologies mean that concrete offers a highly competitive option for road construction.
Hamburg’s Finkenwerder airport is now benefiting from a new runway surface following work carried out by contractor KEMNA BAU.
The company recently used machines from Dynapac to resurface 36,000m2 of the runway track in Hamburg-Finkenwerder, a facility used by Airbus. The airport handles around 10-15 take-offs and landings/day when aircraft are either undergoing flight testing or being delivered to customers, as well as for deliveries of components by transport aircraft.

Dynapac and Leica Geosystems are launching automated steering and screed edge control for asphalt pavers.
Together, the two firms are introducing a new integrated interface for auto-steering and screed edge control system for the SD25 and XD25 Highway Paver series.
The auto-steering and screed edge control features are being enabled on Dynapac asphalt pavers with the Leica iCON pave solution.
