Caterpillar Paving is now rolling out its F Series paver range. These models offer increased performance and capabilities, delivering higher paving quality.
The list of manufacturers introducing new asphalt pavers in 2016 is long, with improved units for both European and US markets being made available. Note that this section summarises new models mentioned in the March and May issues of World Highways.
Designed to meet European requirements, there are three new models from Ammann, the ultra-compact wheeled AFW150-2 for tasks such as road repairs as well as the larger AF 350-2 and AF 500-2, which are available in both wheeled and tracked variants.

Power for the 312D/D L Series 2 excavator comes from a Cat 3054C diesel rated at 67kW that meets Tier 2 and EU Stage II emissions regulations. The new model is available in standard and/or long undercarriage configurations, with operating weights from 12.9-13.9tonnes depending on the specification.

Paver specialist Vögele is widening its product range of pavers for the Chinese market. The company is now offering the Super 1600L and Super 1600-3L variants in China, in addition to models such as the existing Super 1880L. As with the Super 1880L, the two new models feature larger hoppers (denoted by the L suffix) than standard pavers for Europe and other markets. This 15tonne hopper capacity allows the pavers to match the bigger asphalt delivery trucks used by Chinese contractors.
