The organisers of the Plantworx 2015 construction equipment event in the UK are bullish for the success of the exhibition. With nine months to go before the show opens its doors, 65% of the stand space has been sold already with 140 exhibitors booked. A powerful Hitachi excavator is being used to maximise efficiency and simplify the extraction process at a Polish limestone quarry. The operation is owned by Cementownia Warta and since it purchased its EX1200-6, annual production in the Dzialoszyn limestone quarry has risen to 2.5 million tonnes.
The two companies have already tested an integration for New York City where Kistler’s weigh-in-motion sensors and Rekor camera systems are synchronised for detecting overweight trucks.
A leading used construction equipment auctioneer firm boss believes equipment aged between 2 and 4 years is now topping buyers’ ‘wish lists’, as 1 to 2-year-old used stocks deplete.
