The Daily News team was again out and about on the fourth day of bauma 2019 checking out some of the monster equipment on show, and finding out what has impressed visitors.
The signs are that this year's Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany will be a record-breaking event. Work is well underway on-site for what promises to be the largest Bauma event ever. With over 3000 exhibitors planned to cover a record breaking 550,000m², Bauma is the biggest construction equipment exhibition and for the matter, the biggest exhibition of any kind in the world.

The initial figures for the bauma 2013 exhibition in Munich reveal that over 530,000 visitors attended the event. The proportion of attendees from outside Germany was higher than before with 200,000 international visitors from 200 countries. It is worth noting that most will have had to brave the city’s notoriously expensive hotel charges during bauma as only Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic are within a short drive from Munich. The Komatsu PC7000 mining shovel has been a showstopper at bauma, with thousands of visitors stopping to snap photos in front of the enormous machine. Yet it’s the technology inside the shovel, as well as the ease of operation, that will fuel the lasting memories, said Mas Morishita, managing director and CEO of Komatsu Europe.
