Ammann unveils containerised QuickBatch mobile asphalt mixing plant

In response to customer demand, Ammann has developed a new QuickBatch 180 containerised mobile asphalt mixing plant that is easy to transport and quick to set up. It uses a simple “plug and play” electric system.
Finnish Asphalt Plant manufacturer Amomatic has developed a cloud-based system for recording where and when asphalt loads are delivered. Two contractors – one in Finland and one in Estonia – are already using AmoTrack.
“You can see where each batch was placed, what the temperature was,” said Michael Gardias, sales and business development, Africa. The information is entered via a touchscreen system which Amomatic has designed so that drivers find it easy to use.
Indonesia’s Chandra Asri Petrochemical plans to work with the government to test the effectiveness of plastic-mixed asphalt.
In the early stage, Chandra Asri will use three tonness of plastic waste-asphalt mix to pave around 6.3km or roads around the its own plant, said Edi Rivai, general manager of technical services and production.
Rivai said the plastic-asphalt mix with around 6% plastic is usually around 30-40% more durable than pure asphalt.
