Road project for India’s Bihar State

A new road upgrade project in India's Bihar State is now moving ahead, forming part of the country’s highway expansion programme. The US$138.4 million contract will see the NH 82 link running from Gaya to Biharsharif being widened to four lanes. Funding is being provided by the Japanese Cooperation Agency (JICA). The contract for the project will be handled by local company Gaytri Projects. The deal was awarded to the contractor by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Bihar State Road Development
Honduras is planning major road improvement works

Honduras is planning a series of major road improvement works. The focus of this road upgrade work will be improvements along the country’s Corredor Pacifico. The work is being planned by the Honduras Government and is expected to cost in excess of US$244.5 million. Financing is being provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) for work on the 137km stretch of road from Choluteca to El Amatillo, which will cost around $154 million. Flyover project for Chinese city Shenzhen

The city of Shenzhen in China is to benefit from a new flyover project intended to improve traffic flow. The US$178 million project involves the construction of the Yangangdong Flyover, with work expected to commence in December 2016 and due for completion during 2020. In all the new flyover link will feature 12 stretches of elevated viaducts as well as 13 bridges. In addition the new link will also include two tunnel sections.

New Argentina-Uruguay bridge under discussion

A new bridge could be built to improve transport connections between Uruguay and Argentina. The project was discussed by the heads of state of both countries recently. Delays seem likely for the project to build a tunnel link between Turany and Hubova in Slovakia. The 5.7km tunnel will form part of the D1 highway when complete but the construction schedule is being held back as the planned route runs through an aquifer area that provides water sources to three communities in the vicinity. New Slovakia highway under construction

A section of Slovakia’s D3 highway between Skalite and Svrcinovec should be complete by May 2017. This stretch of the D3 highway is in the north of Slovakia and will improve transport links to the neighbouring countries of the Czech Republic and Poland.
