Grove cranes now working in Kuwait

Arabi Enertech KSC is expanding its crane fleet with the addition of 13 new machines from Grove. These cranes have been supplied with support from distributor Equipment Co WLL. The machines were bought by Arabi Enertech KSC to meet its growing demands from customers and in an effort to expand its business. Mozambique road tender due to open

The tender process is opening for the project to rebuild an important road route in Mozambique. The road stretch is in Cabo Delgado Province and runs a distance of over 170km from Mueda to Negomano, which lies on the country’s border with neighbouring Tanzania. Argentina developing new port road links

Argentina is developing new port road links for the Greater Rosario area in Santa Fé Province. Some US$1.21 billion will be spent upgrading transport links to ports in Ramallo, Timbues and Quequen. The projects will include work to upgrade port access roads, with a budget of $354.5 million being targeted at improvements to five road links in Santa Fé province.

Sunderland’s sliding bridge slips across the Wear

Slowly but surely, a 2,500 tonne section of a new bridge deck was eased out from the banks of the River Wear near Sunderland in northern England. It now straddles the water, pointing towards the opposite bank which it will eventually reach after another sliding operation next year likely. A new agreement between IHI and Kato will see the two firms joining their construction machine operations together. IHI Corporation (IHI) announced has agreed to transfer all the shares in its wholly‐owned IHI Construction Machinery business to Kato Works. Sacyr subsidiary Sacyr Concesiones is leading a consortium to will build and operate the Road 2 and Road 7 routes in Paraguay. The Road 2 route will connect Asunción and Coronel Oviedo. Meanwhile the Road 7 route will run from Coronel Oviedo to Caaguazú. Construction is expected to cost US$520 million with the concession package being for a period of 30 years. Major expressway projects are now moving forward in the Philippines, with building due to start in the first quarter of 2017. Funding sources are now being secured for Indonesia’s massive Trans Java toll project. A portion of the financing is being delivered by Sarana Multi Infrastuktur, Taspen, and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. Part of the financing package will also be sourced from pension funds such as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and Taspen. The project will be carried out by Waskita Toll Road.
China highways in Guizhou

The Chinese Province of Guizhou has a plan to construct no less than 32 new highways, with the construction work expected to be complete by 2022. In all the new highways will measure a total length of 2,428km. Work is starting in 2016 on three of the highways, which will total 222km in all. A further 10 highway projects are due to start construction in 2017 and will measure a total of 790km. In 2018 there will be eight new highway projects starting construction and measuring 861km with a further 11 highway
