New crushing and screening buckets from attachment specialist MB sees the company moving down the weight range to fulfil customer demand. The new MB-C50 rushing bucket and MB-S10 screening attachment are both designed for excavators in the 4tonne to 8tonne weight range.

Bobcat, a division of Doosan, is showing a prototype of the E85 midi excavator, an 8.5tonne machine powered by a Yanmar 44.3kW Stage IIIB engine. The machine meets the emissions standard through the use of exhaust gas recirculation and a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The reduced tailswing excavator has 4% more power than the previous E80 model, yet is said to offer a 7% improvement in fuel economy. Bucket digging force is also up 7%, and 6,600kg.

The latest Flygt Bibo submersible pump from Xylem made its debut in a blue bubble-filled tank to demonstrate that it is at home underwater. The model from the latest range was joined on the stand by two other Xylem Water Solutions launches – enhanced drainage pumps from the 2600 series and the new Godwin Vac-Prime pump for lower-head applications. Two new all-terrain mast trucks have been introduced by Manitou. This Manitou range is now assembled at the company's Waco factory in Texas as the market is growing strongly in the USA but is mature in Europe. Shifting production reduces transport costs. Special characteristics claimed for the M30 and M50 include easy maintenance and use together with a high-quality mast that features tilting up to 15% and three lifting heights up to 7m.

Manitou has been showing three new models in its mid-height range of telescopic trucks. The range has been simplified and the three models share the same chassis, boom, engine, transmission and hydraulics for ease of maintenance.

Manitou's new Privilège Plus range of all-terrain rotating telescopic trucks is designed to provide three machines in one. There are three models – the MRT 1850+, the MRT 2150+ and the MRT 2540+, with nominal capacities of up to 5tonnes and lifting heights of between 19.9m and 24.6m. Xylem company Godwin has launched the Vac-Prime low-head pump to complement its Dri-Prime medium- to high-head range. Xylem’s Godwin Vac-Prime has been specifically designed for lower-head dewatering applications. It can manage heads of 11m to 25m, flows of 100m3/hour to 374m3/hour and solids with sizes from 45mm to 75mm. The pump is available in 4” and 6” (101mm and 152mm) versions.

The new crawler version of Moog’s MBI 50 unit has been designed especially for operation on narrow pedestrian bridges. With the load distribution on two crawlers it is possible to stick to a minimum area load even though the overall width is 1.6m and the weight 3,000kg. This makes it possible to work on bridges that are rated low-weight only.
