The newest addition to Ruthmann’s Height series offers flexible access in awkward situations thanks to its extended telescoping upper boom with moveable jib. Terex aerial work platform business Genie has unveiled, what it claims, is the world’s biggest self-propelled boom, the SX-180. Intended primarily for oil and gas industries, construction and industrial maintenance, the boom has a 54.9m vertical working height and a 24.4m horizontal reach. Equipped with a 2.44m by 0.91m basket, and a 3.05m rotating jib, the machine has a working capacity of 340kg.

Kobelco Cranes is introducing three brand new heavy-duty cranes in response to global customer demand. The releases include two new crawler cranes with telescopic booms in the 75tonne class –models TK750S and TK750FS – and one new 120tonne heavy-duty foundation crawler crane with lattice boom; the BMS1200HD. Both the TK750FS and the TK750S are equipped with a 235kW diesel engine to provide the rugged power for the foundation job. Liebherr has developed the LTM1750-9.1, a nine-axle all-terrain crane with a maximum lift capacity of 750 tonnes. The 52m telescopic boom machine is carried by the machine and offers a 154m maximum lift height, with a maximum working radius of 112m. A luffing fly jib can be added in 3.5m increments to take maximum lift height to 91m. Weighing in at 108 tonnes in transport configuration, the LTM puts down 12 tonnes per axle. However if the machine’s boom supports are removed the crane can travel at 11 tonnes
