Large cabs and extensive reach capabilities are key features of 1175 Zoomlion’s new RT series of mobile cranes built specifically for the North American market. According to Larry Tate, service and parts manager for Zoomlion, “we’ve used the best components available (and) improved parts availability too.”

The RT65 mobile crane features a longer, five-section, 43m boom. “That’s without the jib,” Tate said. “Pull out the jib and the insert and you get another 18m.” This extra reach has extensive benefit to contractors. “The bottom line is you can reach more with less tonnage,” he added.

The RT series vehicles employ full hydraulic power steering systems suited to a variety of steering styles including front-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, and crab-steering. The chassis of the four-wheel drive vehicles have substantial ground clearance with wide angles of approach and departure. The turning radius is tight as well.

RT cranes feature a combined steering and operator’s cab. The vehicles offer a full range of hoisting operations, advanced control systems, and comprehensive sound and light alarms to guarantee real-time operational safety.

The machine features a mixer that can produce 1/3 of concrete/cycle. This DNA 1.0 mixer is the smallest in the CIFA range (while the largest has a 3m3 capacity) and can deliver up to 50m3/hour of ready-mixed concrete. The plant
