7139 Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe's new SmartAssist Remote data management system monitors machines to make resource use and management more efficient. The system tracks the performance, fuel consumption and maintenance requirements of machines - as well as the location of vehicles - and will send alerts in case of unusual activity.

SmartAssist Remote transmits detailed information in real time about the status of machines and their use, enabling users to keep an eye on the performance, energy efficiency and movement of machines at all times. The data can also be checked by dealers to optimise cost and time of maintenance and the downtime of machines.

In addition to operational information, users can opt to get alerts in case of malfunction or any unusual activity of equipment outside specified areas or working hours. The data is updated every 30 seconds and alerts are transmitted in real time by email. All data is accessible on computers, tablets and smartphones.

SmartAssist Remote is available as standard on most Yanmar excavators and carriers, and the services is offered free for five years.

Yanmar was founded on the principles of efficiency and quality of products developed with a concern for environmental and social sustainability, says executive director Giuliano Parodi. By enabling users to improve the efficient operation and use of machines, he suggests that SmartAssist Remote applies Yanmar's corporate principles in practice.
