Wirtgen’s W150 CFi has expanded drum

Wirtgen’s compact milling machines W150 CF and W150 CFi can now be equipped with a 300mm extension kit to increase drum width to 1,800mm. With the Flexible Cutter System, users can switch between milling drums with different working widths of 600mm, 900mm, 1,200mm and 1,500mm simply and very quickly. In addition, with the 1,500mm working width it is possible to switch to milling drums with different tool spacings. Wirtgen’s 300mm extension for drum allows greater use of W150 CFi milling machine

2395 Wirtgen’s compact milling machines W150 CF and W150 CFi can now be equipped with a 300mm extension kit to increase drum width to 1,800mm.

With the Flexible Cutter System, users can switch between milling drums with different working widths of 600mm, 900mm, 1,200mm and 1,500mm simply and very quickly. In addition, with the 1,500mm working width it is possible to switch to milling drums with different tool spacings.

The machines - with their powerful 298kW engines and the 300mm extension kit - can tackle a wider range of jobs, from classic small milling machine applications, such as partial road surface repairs, to the removal of entire road pavements.

Because of this, it is especially suitable for large-scale projects in confined spaces found on urban job sites. It is here that the sophisticated visibility concept combined with the camera systems help the operator to manoeuvre easily in close conditions.

A larger cleat profile on the discharge conveyor of the W150 CF/W150 CFi guarantees optimum material transport and, with the higher conveyor speed, precise loading is very fast. Another advantage is the extremely large conveyor slewing angle of 60° to the left and the right. This enables milled material to be loaded under difficult site conditions such as on traffic circles or crossings.

Winter was coming in the northern US state of Illinois and Sangamo Construction had to build 1.5km of bridge parapets just before the end of the construction season. Sangamo Construction was contracted to work on five bridges where some parapets needed to be 1m high x 48cm thick at the bottom, tapering to a width of just under 27cm at the top, and with a perpendicular rear wall. The concrete road paving market continues to develop - Mike Woof reports Concrete road paving technology continues to evolve, with new equipment and techniques coming to market. Although concrete road construction has been used for many years, problems with early generation technologies affected this market segment. The first concrete roads were constructed in sections, which led to problems at joints but these were addressed many years ago with the advent of slipform paving. Concrete roads constructed in t
