Volvo Penta has announced a partnership with one of the world’s largest independent crushing and screening company, McCloskey International.

Details of the agreement and what it means for customers and clients will be available at the international Intermat exhibition in Paris, April 20 to 25.

McCloskey will install Volvo Penta D8, D11 and D13 engines in their mobile jaw, cone and impactor crushers. Also, the

Volvo Penta D5 engine will be installed in mobile screeners and trommels.

The announcement comes as the first McCloskey crusher with a Volvo Penta engine – the high-capacity J45 heavy-duty jaw crusher – made its debut at the National Heavy Equipment Show in Toronto, Canada, in March. It was also on show at the World of Asphalt in Baltimore.

McCloskey equipment is designed and built in Canada and in Northern Ireland. During the past two years, McCloskey has worked closely with Volvo Penta, tailoring an engine package to fit McCloskey’s needs, including customising heavy-duty cooling packages. Volvo Penta also mounted a skid to the bottom of the engine and heavy-duty cooling package so that the engine would slip right into the machine.

McCloskey International has added the option of a recirculating conveyor and screen box to its I44 impact bar mobile crusher, creating the I44R. After the material passes through the crusher, anything over a nominal 20mm is recirculated back into the crusher to be reduced further. This removes the need for a secondary crusher or screen, saving money for the operator and cutting the number of machines on site. McCloskey will also offer a recirculating screen box on its C38 cone crusher, to be called the C38
