Versatility is claimed by ATLAS for its new wheeled excavator

ATLAS claims that its latest wheeled excavator has been redesigned and now benefit from increased power, boosting performance. The 135Wsr has a tail swing radius of only 1,620mm, a swing torque of 40kNm, and a slew speed of 9rpm. The 135Wsr weighs from 13.9-15.2tons and its Deutz diesel meets the Stage V emissions requirements and delivers 95kW at 2000rpm, providing a traction of 82kN, a top speed of 35km/h and good off-road mobility. In addition, it is highly fuel-efficient.

The 135Wsr features an integrated engine oil level sensor while refueling is now done from the ground without the need to access the excavator, which can now also be operated using synthetic fuels. A central lubrication point supplies lubrication for the upper carriage and arm equipment; as an option, a fully automated version of the central lubrication is available. As an option, the 135Wsr can be fitted with the first split dozer blade made by ATLAS. As the two halves of the blade can be moved independently, it adapts to uneven surfaces. For more flexibility, the machine is  available with an outrigger for confined work areas and is also the first ATLAS excavator with all-wheel steering and crab steering.

The new model also has an advanced cab design with 360° visibility, which provides the operator with an unobstructed view for higher safety and more efficient operation. The efficient cab ventilation can keep the operator comfortable, providing clean air at the right temperature. The cab is designed to keep noises level low, with soundproofing providing a quieter workplace for the operator.

The new R25Z-9A mini excavator from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HI) being showcased at bauma is said to fill a big gap in the company’s range between models R16-9 and R27Z-9 in the 2.6tonne class of mini crawler excavators. The latest mini excavator model has a Mitsubishi Tier 4 engine and Z rating. The Z stands for Zero-Turn-Radius, which means that the machine can turn within its own contours and so can work in extremely confined spaces and be fitted with buckets with a capacity of up to 0.07m³. Komatsu Europe has premiered its new next-generation WA475-11 and WA485-11 wheeled loaders, which the manufacturer says represent a leap forward in performance and efficiency.

At the heart of new Dash 11 generation wheeled loaders is a newly developed Komatsu diesel engine which is characterised by extremely high torque in the low-speed range. This new engine is combined with a Komatsu-designed hydro-mechanical-transmission (HMT), resulting in excellent performance, power reserves, fuel efficiency and ease of operation for all transport and loading tasks.

The improvements to articulated dump trucks (ADTs) have been substantial in recent years. Comparing a present day machine with one from 20 or even just 10 years ago shows how far design has come. Major improvements have been made in visibility, operator comfort levels, rough terrain performance, driveline efficiency and productivity, to name but a few key areas. All of the latest generation ADTs available on the world market now come with Tier 3/Stage IIIA compliant diesels that produce far lower noise and
