Vacuworx reduces workforce danger

Vacuworx has developed a range of hydraulically-powered clamp attachments designed for rehandling concrete traffic barriers. Called the HL series, there are two models – B1 and B2. While the former can lift 2.75tonnes, the latter can handle barriers up to 10.5tonnes in weight and up to 9.5m in length. JCB has high hopes for its new Hydradig wheeled excavator, which is said to offer high versatility and stability, as well as visibility, mobility, manoeuvrability and serviceability. A key feature of the machine is the novel layout of its engine and fuel tank, mounted on the lower chassis member rather than on the rotating upperstructure. This helps provide a much better view from the newly-designed cab, aided by large glass panels, and allows the operator to see all four wheels. This radical design also lo

    March 16, 2016
New innovations are underway that will help optimise rock crushing and screening operations and boost quarry efficiency overall - Mike Woof writes. Quarrying is a tough industry that provides enormous challenges to equipment providers as machines and technology have to be rugged, durable and productive. Cutting the cost of production while optimising output has been a major target for suppliers, with new technologies playing an increasingly important role. Taking the long view with regard to increased qu

    October 27, 2016
High throughput and long wear life are claimed by Atlas Copco for its latest bucket crusher attachments. The new BC 2500 and BC 3700 are said to offer higher output and better reliability than previous models. The new units can process up to 80% more material than earlier designs due to new hydraulic drives. The BC 2500 is suited to carriers weighing from 24-33tonnes while the larger BC 3700 can be fitted to excavators weighing from 30-42tonnes. The firm claims that the new bucket crushers allow cont
  • Major improvements for wheeled loaders and excavators
    April 24, 2013
Excavators and wheeled loaders benefit from new engine technology - Mike Woof reports. Competition is tough in the market for crawler excavators and wheeled loaders. These production machines account for a significant percentage of the entire construction equipment market worldwide and the segment also has the widest array of competing manufacturers. In the past, European, Japanese and US manufacturers dominated this sector but in the last 20 years South Korean companies have built significant market shares
